Privacy Policy

Overview
CaptainMTG (“CaptainMTG,” “we,” “us”) publishes free housing, BAH, VA loan, and PCS information for military families. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it’s used, and what stays only in your own browser. CaptainMTG does not require an account or a login to use any calculator, guide, or installation profile on the site.
Information stored only in your browser
The “Save My Plan” feature on the homepage saves your Mission Planner inputs (branch, family size, destination installation, and similar planning details) using your browser’s local storage. That information is never transmitted to CaptainMTG’s servers or any third party — it stays on your device, persists only in that browser, and is cleared if you clear your browser’s site data. We have no way to see, recover, or export it on your behalf.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and timestamps — for security and abuse prevention. We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are actually useful to visitors, so we know where to invest in more installation coverage and better guides. Google Analytics collects aggregate usage data (pages viewed, general location at the city level, device type, how you arrived at the site) — it does not collect your name, email address, or any information you didn’t choose to give us. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google itself handles that data. If we add advertising tools in the future, this section will be updated first, and — where applicable law requires it — a cookie/consent banner will ask for your choice before any non-essential tracking runs.
Information you provide directly
If a future version of the site adds a contact form, newsletter signup, or similar feature, any information you submit there (such as your name or email) is used only to respond to you or send what you signed up for, and is never sold. This policy will be updated to describe that feature specifically before it goes live.
Partner links (Homebird, Salute Mortgage)
CaptainMTG links out to Homebird and Salute Mortgage — see About for how those services relate to CaptainMTG. If you click through and choose to submit information directly to Homebird or Salute Mortgage (for example, starting a loan application or a move-coordination request), that information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We encourage you to review those policies before submitting anything.
We do not sell your information
CaptainMTG does not sell personal information to third parties. Any technical/log data described above is used only for operating and securing the site.
Children’s privacy
CaptainMTG is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — most likely because a new feature (analytics, a contact form, an account system) starts collecting information it doesn’t today — the effective date above will be updated and, for significant changes, noted on the homepage.
