Acceptance of these terms
By using CaptainMTG (the “site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
What CaptainMTG is
CaptainMTG publishes free installation profiles, BAH and buy-vs-rent calculators, VA loan guidance, and PCS logistics content for military families. It is an informational resource, not a lender, broker, real estate agent, moving company, or financial, legal, or tax advisor. CaptainMTG does not originate or service loans and does not charge for use of any tool, guide, or profile on the site.
Illustrative data — not an official determination
Figures shown by the BAH Calculator, the Buy vs. Rent Calculator, and installation profile pages (home prices, rents, BAH multipliers, and similar numbers) are representative, sample-based estimates for planning purposes, clearly marked “Illustrative” where they apply. They are not official BAH entitlement determinations, appraisals, or loan quotes. Always confirm your actual BAH rate with your finance office and get a real quote before making a financial decision. Not financial, legal, or tax advice
Nothing on CaptainMTG is personalized financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. Content is general information intended to help you ask better questions of a licensed professional — a loan officer, an attorney, a CPA — not to replace one.
Common ownership and partner disclosure
CaptainMTG, Salute Mortgage LLC (NMLS #2601951), and Homebird are commonly owned. Full disclosure of that relationship, and of what each service does, is on the About page. Neither service is a required step to use CaptainMTG’s free tools, guides, or profiles, and CaptainMTG does not guarantee any outcome, rate, or approval from either one. If you choose to work with Salute Mortgage or Homebird, that relationship is governed by their own separate terms and disclosures, not this page.
Third-party links
The site links to third-party resources (including NMLS Consumer Access and other government or reference sites). CaptainMTG doesn’t control and isn’t responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of external sites.
Acceptable use
Please use the site lawfully and don’t attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at scale without permission, misrepresent its content as an official government resource, or copy its editorial content (installation Local Intelligence write-ups in particular) for republication elsewhere without permission.
Intellectual property
The CaptainMTG name, logo, and original written content are owned by CaptainMTG. You’re welcome to link to the site and share individual pages; wholesale reproduction of the site’s content isn’t permitted without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Housing markets, BAH rates, and lending criteria change — always verify current figures with an official source before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CaptainMTG is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including decisions made based on illustrative calculator figures.
Governing law
